PENTECOST 21 2nd November 2025
Our sincerest condolences are expressed for the family of betty McClure. Betty had a fall last week and died on Thursday. She was a lovely lady, much loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed. Alan D is finally out of hospital and in new digs at Labrador Gardens, and Portia has moved to Hillview and would appreciate visitors I’m sure. We have a new sliding door – and it works like a charm, it will be interesting to see how it stands up to wild weather, but it’s nice to be able to use both entrances to the church again – thank you Cassandra for making this happen. We got excited when the tables were delivered last week, only to discover they did not have the legs that press into an underneath mould as advertised – so at some stage they will be collected and we will continue to look for tables similar to a couple we already have. Because the Alicia Street Market is on a Sunday, we are asking our cooks and others who might be interested, to create an item for order, that can be collected from the hall on Wednesday 17th December. Please let Cass know what you are willing to make so she can perform a cost analysis and insure we are getting a good return on the ingredients we are happy to supply. If you can make a sample of your wares to have at the November market, we can take orders both then and throughout the week with the other patrons who come to our buildings – then in December we will have orders ready for pick up. It’s incredible to think Christmas is so close. We would love to see you on Sunday afternoon at the Brisbane Male Voice Choir – you won’t be disappointed!

CHRISTMAS BAKING DRIVE
In lieu of the Alicia St Christmas Market we are holding a Christmas Drive, and taking orders for Christmas goodies e.g. Christmas Cake, pudding, shortbread, gingerbread, chocolate brownies etc…
If you are willing and able to bake Christmas food for the drive bring along a sample to the next market day. Let Cassandra know what you are making in advance so that the ingredients can be priced prior to the market day and an accurate sale price worked out. A copy of the recipe would be ideal for this. All ingredients will be provided to you.
- Let Cassandra know what you will be making by the 20th Nov along with the ingredients & quantities
- Bring along your sample product to the market day 26th Nov
- Orders will be taken at the market day
- Bakers will be told how many items have been ordered and all ingredients will be provided to them
- Baking will need to be packaged and ready for pick up from the church on 17th Dec.
