“Connecting with the heart of God, Congregation and Community”
“We will be a Christ-centered people of faith, knowing God’s love and grace, seeking to discern the Holy Spirit in leading us. We will empower and enable people’s gifts and passions to be shared and explored through the ministries of our church. We will serve the local and wider Community in the name of Jesus.”
As part of the Uniting church in Australia, the Southport Congregations faith and mission are based on the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.
Our relationships with God, with one another in the congregation and with those in the wider community are characterised by the love and compassion of Christ.
We value prayer as a source of God’s guidance, strength for mission, intercession for one another and the world and an expression of thanks for God’s blessings.
We respect and honour one another’s gifts, insights and contribution to the community of faith.
We value permission-giving leadership that empowers, releases and equips people for ministry and mission.
Valuing our heritage and the endurance of those who have gone before, we commit ourselves to persevere in God’s call to share Christ in our community.
