Newsletter 5th October

Thank you everyone who has increased their giving – our bank balance looks a lot heathier already. If we keep this up, we will definitely have a budget that is in the black. The month of September was a month of       challenge and you rose to the occasion. The committee organising the 100 year celebrations has decided to put on a lovely luncheon on the day, that will be a fully catered 2 course meal – as such the price of tickets is likely to be around $50 each, so we are encouraging you to start saving – we also don’t want the price to inhibit anyone from attending – so if it’s outside of your budget, please don’t be backwards in coming forwards – we will have some means and ways of supplementing the cost of tickets. For those of you interested in watching “the boy who harnessed the wind” it’s on Netflix – it’s a true story and inspiring to say the least. The outdoor fans have been     tested with the warmer weather and are much appreciated. This week we’ve had an outdoor security light installed in the café area. A few weeks ago, Jaye donated some carpet and his labour to the sound booth. Minnie’s    filming afternoon looked like a lot of fun – thank you to everyone who got involved. There is no indoor bowls this week due to the Kings Birthday long weekend. The technician came to look at our faulty sliding glass door today – so there are many things happening around the place, enhancing our spaces, rectifying issues and improving overall security. We were also the recipients of some office furniture from a business wanting to give it a good home. The Lavender corner now have their own office too!
