PRAYERS

Sun 1 “In the beginning God created the heaven & the earth.” Genesis 1:1. We praise our awesome creator God for the beauty of creation all around us. Amen

Mon 2 “God created great whales & every living creature that moveth.” Gen 1:21. As we enjoy your creations Lord, make us more grateful for living creatures. Amen

Tue 3 Father God, make us into users not abusers, preservers not destroyers, sharers and not selfish hoarders. Forgive me when I have passed by someone, not helping.

Wed 4 We pray today for all our wonderful volunteers who support ministry here at Southport Uniting. Prompt us Lord to be supportive to them and our church. Amen

Thur 5 Lord Jesus, we bring our burdens that weigh us down, distress that we have brought others or others brought us. Forgive and restore us in Jesus Christ. Amen

Fri 6. Lord, bless our church as we host the World Day of Prayer on Friday March 6th at 10am. Bless the peoples of Nigeria as we focus on supporting them in prayer.

Sat 7 Many women in Nigeria face discrimination, poverty, mental health issues & do not live in safety. Lord Jesus, I pray that these issues can be turned into positives.

Sun 8 We pray for restored faith in the unity Christian women are finding in giving to and receiving from each other, around our world. Father God, bless relationships.

Mon 9 Lord, hear our prayer for all peoples around our world living with poor or corrupt leadership. May they find hope in Jesus and justice for their oppression.

Tue 10 Holy Spirit, fill us anew. Let your power overflow in our communities across the globe. We pray for peace to find a way forward as we are blessings to each other.

Wed 11 Thankyou Loving God for hearing our cries and bearing our burdens. We trust in your unfailing love and your mighty power to transform difficult situations.

Thur 12 Lord, hear our prayer to provide improved healthcare & education for Nigerian families. We pray for maternity services where there are currently none.

Fri 13 Pray today for your own family, each one, bringing your concerns & wrapping them in God’s love. Remember to include yourself for prayer, daily needs & cares.

Sat 14 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.” Ps 23:1. Reflect in thanks for how God has guided and provided for you. Pray for those needing guidance & help.

Sun 15 God of hope I am awed by your power but also your grace. As you shepherd me, I pray to go out in your name and in your grace to walk alongside others. Amen

Mon 16 Lord Jesus bless our church groups meeting in our Uniting space. Show us how to foster fellowship, be good listeners & be your disciples in our community.

Tue 17 “Be strong in the Lord & the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10. Powerful God, give me decisiveness over my doubts, strength instead of weakness, positive words instead of silence. Pray for your day to day life in Jesus and his presence.

Wed 18 “Put on the whole armour of God that you may stand against the wiles of the Devil.” Eph 6:11. Father forgive my failings and renew me to live in righteousness.

Thur 19 “Take the helmet of faith & the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.” Eph 6:17. Lord, draw me to learn from your Word, your Truth, the Bible.

Fri 20 Lord hear our prayers for our minister, Rev Julie & her family. Be the light she looks to daily & the strength that fulfills her needs. We give thanks for her presence.

Sat 21 Pray today for our church leaders, especially our Council, who work to enable ministry within & from S.U.C. Bless each member & their families, loving Lord. Amen

Sun 22 ‘’Peace be to the brethren, & love with faith from God the Father & the Lord Jesus Christ.” Eph 6:23. Ask God to give you his peace today, in all you do and say.

Mon 23 Peace. Mighty & Caring God, we reach out for peace solutions in our world. Cast out hautiness & pride, villainy & destruction. Build us up in your peace & love.

Tue 24 Love. My Lord, thankyou for the many faces & ways of love. Take our selfishness & turn it into compassion & reaching out to others in your love. Amen.

Wed 25. Faith. I praise my God for the gift of faith. Deepen my relationship, Loving God, as I draw closer to you daily in my reading your Word, prayer & service. Amen

Thur 26 Father God, forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. We are thankful for a faith in God which gives us forgiveness & a relationship with Jesus.

Fri 27Almighty God, save us from the time of trial. We pray for those going through life’s difficulties. Pray for our shut-in members & those in Nursing Homes. Amen

Sat 28 Lord, deliver us from evil. We pray against pornography, polluting minds. Hear our prayer for the youth of today, for families with young children & relationships.
